The Screwing of Obama

Sunday, August 7th, 2011

President Obama is in a unique and very uncomfortable position.  I believe he is the only one in Washington who is interested in solving the country’s problems.  He has a plenty of problems to solve after the eights years of misrule by Bush and Cheney.  Whether the destruction caused by them was deliberate or happened through incompetence (or a combination of both) is a mute point; Obama has to fix these problems.   (see blog pos thttp://hankquense.com/blog/?p=1090 for more on this topic)

Unfortunately, the Republicans in Congress see the problems as an opportunity to discredit the President and they have no intention of helping him, no matter how desperate the situation in the country becomes.  Their only interest is winning back the White House and if they have to wreck the country to do, so be it.

As for the Democrats in Congress, they have no leadership to organize a defense against the Republican onslaught.  Pelosi and Reed useless as leaders and exemplify the difference between leadership and being in-charge.  It’s mind boggling to me that, after getting routed in the 2010 elections, the Democrats re-elected Pelosi and Reed, their “leaders” who managed to fiasco of the 2010 election.

Under these trying circumstances, Obama fights to improve the country by himself; the Republicans oppose everything he tries to do, and the Democrats are too inept to help.

Obama’s Bad Luck

Saturday, June 11th, 2011

I voted for Obama and I think he’s a dedicated American who is trying to restore the American dream.  I think he has a vision of what the country should be like and he’s trying to move is there,  Despite the everyday disasters, both weather-wise and foreign, I think he is doIng a terrific job. While this may sound silly given the state of the country, consider the conditions he is operating against.

One expects the minority party to dispute the White House positions, but one also expects those politicians to consider the country’s welfare before the welfare of their Party.  Unfortunately, the Republicans’ position is based regaining the White House, not trying to solve the nation’s problems of even trying to govern the country.

Obama’s second problem is the Democratic Party “leadership” in Congress.  Pelosi and Reed are incompetent and Obama has been saddled with them since he became President.  Reed and Polosi have demonstrated no ability to lead, they are nothing but placeholders waiting for real leaders to emerge.  Their procrastination and  lack of leadership led to the inordinate delays and interminable negotiations that took almost an entire year changed a healthcare plan that many liked to one that everyone hates.

Their gross incompetence led to the defeat on the midterm elections.  The Democrats then took stock of their losses and chose to re-elect the architects of defeat, Pelosi and Reed.  Consequently, President Obama has the unfortunate task of fighting off the Republican attack on the National welfare while trying to direct the leaderless Democratic Congress to do something constructive.

This constitutes bad luck squared.

FNN Report: Trump continues to dig

FNN reporter Stacy Conundrum reports on Donald Trump’s latest demand.  In a press conference today, Mr. Trump followed up on his “success” with President Obama’s birth certificate by urging the president to release his report card from his kindergarten classes. “This is important stuff.  The voters have a right to know how their President performed during his formative years.  I have heard from sources that he had disciplinary problems and was often made to sit in a corner.  Other sources tell me Obama had a lack of basic understanding on how to stack blocks to build a tower.  I call on the White House to open its records and disclose these vital facts. They are essential to allow voters to make up their minds on whether he is qualified to run for a second term.  At my own expense, I hired a team of investigates to dig out information on this breaking issue because  we can’t trust Obama to tell us the truth.”

Trump promises to continue to inform the voters about as long media continues to listen.

When asked to name his sources, Trump declined, saying he had to protect their privacy.

Sarah Palin later issued a press release supporting Trump’s efforts.  “I’m glad someone finally is attempting to expose the hidden secrets of this most secretive of all Presidential regimes. Due to Donald’s efforts, we finally got to see Obama’s birth certificate.  After all this time, I have to wonder if it was produced in the White House basement by a team of CIA forgerers”

The Voters Speak

Sunday, December 12th, 2010

After the November election, both parties agreed that the voters demanded change in Washington and had voted for it.  Once Congress met again, the message became garbled.  The Republicans, thrilled with the gain in Senate and House seats, reelected the “Just say no” leadership..

The Democrats, stunned by the loss of so many seats, met and decided to “stay the course,” Bush’s favorite bromide. They reelected the same incompetent leaders who lost all the seats because of their inability to “lead” or even to put together a coherent message.

As an added insult, the Republicans have announced that they have no intention of addressing the nation’s problems; they will concentrate strictly on fighting Democratic initiatives to exclusion of everything else.

So much for listening to the voters.

RNC defends “Status Quo” votes

Monday, November 1st, 2010

(Faux News Network)

This exclusive report was filed by our political reporter, Stacy Conundrum

A spokesperson for the RNC in a telephone interview defended the Republican Party Congressional position of opposing all Democratic actions.  “Look, we’re the loyal opposition.  It’s our job to say ‘No’ to the other party.  Besides, our position is to defend at all cost the status quo.  In our point of view, the glorious Bush administration reached new heights of important initiatives and we must defend against the ignorance of the Democrats who want to change that Bush legacy.  We are sworn enemies of all who want to inconvenience businesses like the banks and Wall Street with regulations that restrict their creativity.  The Democratic plan to hobble the medical insurance corporations is blatantly unfair to the corporations who must now issue policies on sick people. That is a preposterous regulation.  How can an insurer make profits if it has insure sick people?  And all those environmental regulations?   We will fight those who try to limit the profits of major corporations through silly laws like filling out safety and emergency plans before drilling new oil wells.

“On another Democratic initiative, we oppose tax increases on the wealthy because that could negatively impact our contributions from those wealth folks.

On the Bush Legacy:

“As you can see, our position isn’t simply being obstinate, it’s a defense of the status quo and a defense of President Bush’s legacy.

“We have a series of plans in place to continue that wonderful legacy as soon as we regain power.  We will lower taxes on corporations; we will eliminate these nonsensical regulations that limit the ingenuity of the corporate America.  We will celebrate the resurgence of the Bush-Cheney regime by offering a tax holiday to all citizens who make over a million dollars a year.  That will compensate them for the anguish they suffered worrying about what the Democrats would do to their excess earnings.”

On Corporate Donations:

When asked how much money the Party had received from corporations, the spokesperson replied, “The amount of money raised has been too small to be tabulated so I can’t answer your question.  This is a typical question from the liberal media. It constantly searches for the answers to nitpick questions that are of no interest to the Republican Party devotees.”
